How to get VIP access
Three steps. You keep the same files and the same browser account.
-
Open VIP access
In upbin, click VIP access in the side menu, or open it here.
-
Add to your balance
Balances are credited by the operator of this server: contact them to top up.
Press Top up and send USDC on the Stellar network to the address shown, with your memo. It’s credited within seconds. Any amount counts; $5 or more is suggested. Network fees are yours.
-
Pick a plan
Choose one under Plan. It’s paid from your balance by the second; switch or leave whenever you like.
New to USDC? It’s a digital dollar: 1 USDC is worth $1. Most crypto exchanges and wallets sell it and can send it on Stellar, the network we use, where a transfer costs a fraction of a cent.
The memo is how we know the payment is yours (wallets may call it “memo”, “memo ID” or “tag”). Forgot it? Write to the operator from Contact in the app with the transaction hash. Other coins, or USDC sent on another network, can’t be credited.
Your money, back when you want it
A balance is not a subscription. What you don’t use stays yours.
Unused balance stays yours: ask the operator to pay it back.
Withdraw unused balance in the app (VIP access → Withdraw), in USDC on Stellar, only to an address you topped up from and up to what you paid from it, for a flat $0.01 fee (it covers the network fee). The operator sends it by hand; the app shows it as sent once paid. Withdrawing everything while on a plan ends the plan.
Only back to where it came from: even someone who got hold of your account couldn’t send your money anywhere else.
An account with money on it, or a withdrawal waiting, can’t be deleted by mistake: withdraw first.
If you pay from an exchange, its sending address may not be your deposit address: a withdrawal to it may not reach your exchange account. Withdraw only to a wallet you control, or ask your exchange first.
The fine print, in plain words
Everything that decides what you pay. Open what you care about.
What do I get on a paid plan?
- Your files never expire, and neither does your account.
- No per-IP upload limits.
- A gold look for the app, if you want it: your highlights and buttons turn gold. Off by default, one switch in the VIP panel.
- Switch or leave any time in the app (VIP access in the side menu). Each plan is charged for exactly the time you had it, to the second.
- Switching to a smaller fixed plan only works while your files fit in it.
What happens if my balance runs out?
If your balance runs out, your files stay for 10 days and your plan keeps running on credit. Top up within 10 days and nothing changes: those days are simply charged. After 10 days your account becomes free: files are deleted 10 days after their last download, and the unpaid days are forgiven.
While running on credit, uploads follow the free rules (per-IP limits, no plan limits).
How exactly am I charged?
- Charges come out of your balance continuously and are settled once a day (and at every plan switch). The VIP panel shows your balance, what has accrued since, and how many days it lasts at the current rate.
- Fixed plans cost their price per 30 days, per second held. Over a limit you’re never billed extra: when the storage is full, uploads stop; when the downloads for the last 30 days reach the allowance, downloads of your files stop (for everyone, you included) until older days roll off. Thumbnails keep showing. You choose: delete files, wait, or switch plan.
- Pay as you go charges what you store, measured continuously, and what is downloaded. Every uploaded byte is billed for at least 4 hours, even if you delete it sooner; on fixed plans those bytes also count against the storage for that time.
- Prices only go up with at least 60 days’ notice. Decreases apply at once.
What counts as a download?
An estimate of the bytes served from your files: every download or preview of an original, whoever opens it (you, collaborators, anyone with a public link). Thumbnails are free. 1 TB = 1024 GB, the unit the app shows.
Why does a tiny file count as 64 KB?
The storage provider bills every stored object as at least 64 KB, so we count it the same way, for storage billing and against a fixed plan’s storage. A picture or video’s preview thumbnail is one more such object. So a 10 KB note counts as 64 KB, a 30 KB photo with its preview as 128 KB; files above 64 KB count at their real size (+ 64 KB for a preview). Downloads are always counted at real size.
